All Smiles - One on the Mend!
Morgan returned to school on Wed. after a 4 day stomach bug - & about 3 pounds lighter! At Regan's swim lesson last night, Morgan was all smiles, but I warned her to watch the steps as she played! The lesson came to an abrupt end when Regan got sick. As we hurried to leave, Morgan fell down - at which time she said, "I fell just like Gigi!" :( With Regan on the couch, Morgan got her purple computer & sat next to me. So ready for the stomach bug to leave!! P.S. We all said our prayers for Gigi!

Birthday Parties Galore!
We had 2 separate "pool-themed" birthday parties last weekend. Rains hit hard on Friday, which kept
Lessley's party indoors. On Sat, a cool-front rolled in - yet, with a heated pool and a bit of sun, Landry's party continued outdoors. Regan is ready for pool time! Sadly, Morgan was sick all weekend!

Regan's Most Cherished Item
Last week was Regan's turn to share pictures of her family and talk about her "favorites". She brought in a favorite stuffed animal, her favorite Princess book, her favorite game (Monopoly Jr), and a PICTURE only of her "most cherished item" which was, hands down, her blanket (after I defined "cherished").
Not in Public School
Obviously, an Easter project. Regan's handwriting continues to improve. Yes, "b" & "d" are tricky! :)

Little Red Riding Hood - The Doll
Flashback to my old doll. While it looked vaguely familiar, I don't recall playing with it. A few weeks ago, Morgan had a fascination with the story of Little Red Riding Hood - we had to read every version from the books we owned. This week, I found this doll/book within an old childhood box. I washed it and watched Regan read it to Morgan this morning!

Morgan's Reading Selections ~
Morgan's interest in books is moving to another level (yet - the "classic" ones are still being read). I wanted to document some of her favorites (most of which were Regan's too!). Both girls have always loved the "singing" books, the "lift-the-flap" books, and nursery rhymes. Morgan's favorite has been Goodnight Moon. I love that we are moving on to Dr. Seuss books, Corduroy & the "If you give..." series!

Grandma & Grandpa Etter Visit!
Guess who was all smiles for the camera THIS weekend?? The girls had a great time with Grandma & Grandpa while Christopher & I ran Hog's Hunt 25K in Huntsville.
Grandma Joan brought doll clothes for the girls that belonged to her as a child (made by her grandmother). So, these outfits were made by Regan & Morgan's great-great grandmother.
Grandma Joan also gave some great older books to the girls, including Golden Books, that I hadn't seen, including: Pollyanna, Old Yeller, Annie Oakley, & Mary Poppins stories. [Also, I took pictures of the bird's nest (and eggs) in my fern - and the progress of Regan's plant from Easter! - new life!]

Poetry Contest - Our Winner!
We are proud parents! Regan won the poetry contest for her Kindergarten classroom. She and the other classroom winners recited their poems in front of all K-5th graders! Regan was a bit nervous - & made a slight error, but she smiled the whole time!! Her friend, Victoria, was the other K-class winner!

Easter Weekend - 2012
Cousin Play Time ~ ! (Regan - 5 yrs; Caden - 3 yrs; Morgan - 2 yrs; Harper - 9 mos.)
Easter Egg Hunt at Abiding Love ~ a few crafts before the hunt...
It was a toss-up as to which was better ~ the hunting of eggs or playing at the playground!
We dyed eggs later in the afternoon ~ whisks were used to hold the eggs (Aunt Leah's Pinterest idea!)
Easter Morning! The Easter Bunny came & the kids enjoyed the hunt! It was Regan's "high" of the day! Morgan opened the eggs, took out the goodies and dumped the "shell"! They liked finding the coins!
Pink was the color this year! We tried for a few grandchildren/parent pictures. Morgan said "no"!
Group hug! Time to go home - tight hugs for all! Thanks to Gigi & Pops for a wonderful weekend!

Trip to the Houston Zoo
Regan invited her friend, Landry, to join us at the zoo - courtesy of The Wood Family! On the trip, we sang the Wheels on the Bus song - "...and the baby on the bus goes waa, waa, waa". Seal sighting!
The kids loved the fish "tunnel" - and crawled through it several times!! Great pic op!
The girls sang "Ring Around the Rosies" and later "Follow the Leader/Train". Oops! Was that a push I saw? Harper was taking notes and will be playing with the big girls before we know it!
We appreciated Caden's patience with "all the girls". Feeding the ducks was fun! Morgan hung with the big kids, played w/ play-dough at home, & then passed out on the couch (a 1st)! Great day!

The kids enjoyed the water mister, 4D Dora show (but a bit 'scary' for the little ones), and play time at the park. Miss Harper was all smiles while awake - and loved her crackers!
