Regan had a good day - w/ her birthday mentioned during morning announcements at school, cookie cake celebration at lunch, swim practice, gifts, dinner, and cake to complete the day! Even watched a short preview of America's Got Talent - her fav show! Morgan was the best little sister - putting in the candles and singing "Are you 1, are you 2,...are you 8?" {Hoping R's b-day wishes come true!!}

Getting Ready for Summer
Regan wanted to start fresh on her bulletin board. So, we removed this year's accomplishments in preparation for more! Her teacher rewarded stickers for behavior, class participation, etc. Once your "card" had 15 stickers, you earned a prize & started a new card. Regan led the class in this effort!

Swim Meet / End of Year Activities
Swim Meet (Sat) - Sand Creek vs. Greentree. Regan swam in 4 events (Freestyle, Back, Fly, Relay).
(Sat) MEE continues to be a trooper thru-out these long swim meets. Thank goodness for the parks!
Pines (Wed afternoon). Christopher attended Morgan's Parent/Teacher Conference. [I was in Utah all week.] She is making great progress in all areas. The triangle has slowly closed and filled in over the past few years. /=presented; 2 // = developing; 3 ///= improved; 3 (filled in) = mastered
1st Communion (Wed morning). The 2nd grade classes celebrated together at school mass. Christopher attended mass & reception. [l-r: Avery, REE, Macy, Addison and Mackenzie]

End of Spring gymnastics (Tuesday night). They are already excited for Summer gymnastics!
Morgan's newest drawing development. Tree, sky, grass, cloud; 2nd tree is growing strawberries!
Regan's in-class "travel brochure" project on Kentucky. We like projects that don't involve parents!
Regan's spelling tests now include a cursive handwriting section. Bluebonnet picture from Art class.
Morgan continues to enjoy swimming lessons. A few more & then it's just practice time in the pool!

Daddy's Temporary Pet
Daddy rescued a box turtle last week (while I was away). The turtle has a very temporary box in our kitchen until we can find a new home for it - which will surely be soon.

Rock Climbing B-day Party
Immediately following the swim meet, Regan celebrated classmate, Matthew's, 8th b-day at Lifetime Fitness' "rock climbing" birthday party. Regan climbed to the top several times, displaying quite the arm strength. After rock climbing, they played kickball, soccer, and dodgeball. Busy day!
1st Swim Meet (2014) - Sand Creek vs Kings Point
Regan had 3 great swims today (including 2 new PRs on time): freestyle, breast, and backstroke
Still working on our breathing technique - as well as remembering to keep both the arms and legs moving at the same time - tricky stuff!
Long day, but Regan did very well.

Morgan was quite the trooper today - she cheered & supported Regan from 7am - 1pm along with us!

Mother's Day Weekend in Lost Pines Bastrop
Look - no training wheels! Regan made great progress this weekend on the bike!!
Pics with the Longhorn Steers! Morgan was a little apprehensive and needed Daddy's helping hand.
Regan's Mother's Day card. I aged a year, but she has beautiful cursive writing.
Morgan's Mother's Day flowers. Finger-print bluebonnets and hand-print flower.

Weekend Celebrations
Fun weekend with Gigi and Pops. Friday night out with the birthday girl - 70 years young! On Saturday, we took the girls to see a version of Pinocchio. The girls liked it, but not one of the best.

Morgan's "Science" Project
Morgan's class has been learning about the stages of a frog. From frog eggs, tadpole, froglet and finally, frog - they've been watching live ones "grow" in class. Lots of frog artwork was done!
