1st Day of PreK4 & 3rd Grade

Both girls were excited about their first day of school at St. Martha!

Morgan put on a brave face & was such a trooper! She loves to be just like her big sister!

Morgan was done with pictures and ready to go to her class!  We walked Regan to class first and gave big hugs!  Regan is so looking forward to the school year - she has a great teacher!!

Uncertain, but putting on a brave face.  No tears.  But, other kiddos were crying - which she didn't understand. An activity was waiting for her at her table. She had a good day.

Departing school. The 1st day was just 4 short hours.  Morgan held on tight to her sister's hand.  MEE took a "bedtime nap" from 5-8pm (which is not like her!!).  Then, she got up, ate, & returned to bed!

I took off to be with the girls before they return to school on Wed.  We enjoyed the pool and park!

Fall gymnastics started this week. Both girls still love it!

Bike, Play, and Swim

On Sunday afternoon, we took the girls for an extended bike ride to go play at a neighboring park before returning for a quick dip in the pool! This is our 2nd time at this park, but continue to laugh at its rules: "no running, pushing, or shoving". Doesn't every child RUN and PLAY at the park?

The girls were all smiles for the camera!

They climbed and played non-stop for 30 minutes...

Love the sisterly playtime! And, yes, my child asked to take a "selfie" - that's a first! :)

Summer Birthday Party Fun

Regan and I attended Samantha's 8th birthday party - water slide and carnival themed fun.  She got to see all her St Martha's friends.  Before we left, they took a hand-stand picture!

Regan & good buddy Mackenzie!

Last Volleyball Game of the Summer ~ !

The volleyball team made great progress this summer! It was a quick game, but the girls had fun!

Medals were awarded.  Gigi & Pops got to see a glimpe of Regan's volleyball skills!

Last day at Pines

Bittersweet day, looking forward to the new year w/ both girls at St Martha's, but so thankful for the past few years at Pines...(it may still be our continued summer option). Morgan has learned so much & made so many good friends at Pines. Morgan has been so extremely happy at Pines.

End of Summer Session II @ Pines

We love art.  Piet Mondrain was a Dutch painter. Neoplasticism - white background with a grid of vertical and horizontal black lines and 3 primary colors.  Morgan's Vincent Van Gogh & sunflowers.
Kandinsky was a Russian painter credited with the first purely abstract works (pic on upper left). Value - how light or dark a color is; other examples of Regan's creative artwork!
Dr Seuss - Regan got to create a character and describe it; Jackson Pollock was an American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement - known for his unique drip painting.
Morgan standing next to Claude Monet's water lillies.
Van Gogh's Starry Night...colored using chalk.
Love this!  Edward Munch's "Scream".

Volleyball Success~!

This weekend's volleyball game was great fun - and another turning point for Regan!  She made every one of her serves over the net! Plus, she made contact with each ball that came her way!

Go Smiling Storm! So proud of all R's hard work and practice! She didn't let one ball get past her!

Grandpa came to visit for the weekend and was able to attend the game - & celebrate w/ Regan!
