Regan started this process in 5th grade (around Nov) - which included an expander. The first round of braces came off at the end of her 6th grade year. Then, once the rest of her baby teeth came out, she started her 2nd round of braces in February of her 8th grade year (right before Quarantine). Today, in the middle of her 10th grade/Sophomore year, they came off!! Whew! That smile - PRICELESS!
This girl. As you get older and move into the bigger meets, every minuscule "hundredths of a second" dropped is an achievement. The team didn't drop any big numbers at this event. It was a tough 4 days, and maybe a tear or two was shed - but to get soooooo close (missing TAGS by 0.12 on her 50 Free), after working sooooo hard, one is allowed to have "a moment". Next time.
Christopher and I have now participated in the Houston Chevron/Aramco HALF Marathon 10 times together. The latest was, unfortunately, just a walk (no running due to plantar fasciitis) - but a very fast walk (3:06:15 - 14:13 min/mile)!! For Houston Chevron/Aramco, I have actually done 10 half marathons & 1 full marathon. Christopher has done 11 half marathons (he hit #10 last year) & 1 full.
