Short, but special time spent in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The city of Oak Ridge, TN, was enclosed behind a fence and not even on a map until 1949. The "Secret City" was home to those who were commissioned to work on a top-secret project that would play a pivotal role in the Manhattan Project to create the world's first atomic bomb and bring an end to WWII. On Thursday night, we met with Pops' long time high school friend, Karen, at Big Ed's (located within the Historic Jackson Square). On Friday morning, Morgan swam at the 102-meter, historic Oak Ridge pool - but, 30 minutes in, bad weather caused them to cancel practice for the first time in 14 years! Later that day, we visited Pops' 1st home in Oak Ridge, "the bridge", and his beloved high school. We are all extremely grateful that Pops survived his fall from the bridge on that snowy morning (with house slippers on) and lived to tell his children & grandchildren about it!!

UT - The Other One
University of Tennessee. Rainy day in Knoxville. Good discussion with the theatre head, but not impressed - while the rest of us took a brief "tour" of campus on our own. Best looking collegiate aquatics center and pool we visited. I, personally, loved the "rolling hills" of the campus.

Auburn University
Enjoyed an evening and a morning in Auburn. Met with a counselor, liberal arts and theatre heads. Visited Toomer's Drugs (established in 1896) for their lemonade. Ate dinner at the Hey Day Market. Another pretty campus!

Swimming: Summer League...oh, AND TAGS!
Swimming, swimming, and MORE SWIMMING. Season #3 with FMKP. Managed to break a few records, receive high point for 13-14 yo, and have some fun! BTA summer swimming 2x/day and DADs pool (an hour away). Also, enjoyed a week in San Antonio bringing home ONE Tags time for 100 back...and was only .01 off in her 50 free. Overall, it was a great meet with some great time-drops!
