Angel Fire - Snow Skiing Adventure!

Left for Angel Fire on Christmas afternoon. On day 2, we took a quick diversion to the town of Etter, Texas.  We were literally "blown away" trying to take a picture in the frigid (32 degree), windy air!

On Saturday afternoon, we had 4-5:30pm reservations for tubing.  The temperature was negative with the blustery winds and snow.  I didn't make it past 2 runs, but the rest of the family prevailed!

Always excited and smiling! Heading to ski school on Sunday (8am-3:30pm).

A must do when in the snow!  Snow angels!  This was their first true experience seeing snow!

Regan attempted a snowman...but the type of dry snow limited her ability to go bigger and higher!

We skied as a family on Monday! The girls managed the lifts and continued gaining confidence!

Family picture. So blessed that Gigi and Pops joined us!!

Gigi & Pops; The Etter Family

The girls did the small slope before graduating to the longer, hillier "green" slopes. So proud of them!

Morgan loved riding the ski lift with Pops.

Some pics from the Angel Fire Photographers!

Lunches were eaten at the bottom of the slope!

Energetic little one!  Non-stop smiles. Note the constant posing!!
The "haul" (our extra workout for the day)...clumsy skis, poles, boots!  1.5 block walk to/from slope!
Enjoyed dinner out one night at local establishment. Special treat!

Overall, good trip...enjoyed the snow, skiing, and family time!  Very cold - never got above freezing! Learning experience for next time!  [Redwood Commons]  Our new ornament for the tree!
Enjoyed the warm cabin, game night, and red Dixie cup wine!

Time to head back home. Fresh snow coming down!

Definitely 3 generations of fun!!

Christmas 2015

3rd Annual - Charlie Brown tree adventure!  First stop...the hunt for the perfect "tree"! We found it!
Gigi & Pops and grandkids! Of course, the purse took the hike with us! The kids made ornaments and decorated the tree. Although our best Charlie Brown tree so far, I failed to get a decent picture of it!

Santa stopped by to visit early Christmas Eve morning!  He brought a few early gifts for all to open!

Let the sugar cookie decorating begin!  Regan says that this is her favorite part of Christmas!

The finished products!  We managed not to eat them all during the making!

Before Christmas Eve service...

A few more pictures with lovely flash exposures (then again, we have about 4 cameras going at one time - what else should we expect!!??)  But, the smiles and excitement are there!
New ornaments that Santa brought for us!!

Christmas morning!  They managed to stay in their room until 6:30am (albeit up since 5:40am)!

Pogo sticks, Barbies, robots, & rainboots...just to name a few! We can't forget the stockings too!

Parting ways...Caden showed me his very serious face, but the smile was bursting to come out!! :)

"Winter" Classroom Parties

The girls started off the day wearing PJs to school, sang Christmas carols with the entire school, and watched Polar Express with their classes.

I enjoyed participating in both the K and 4th grade Christmas parties. MEE making her frame!

Reindeer Romp

I joined the girls at their respective designated times to run the track.  The Kindergarten class wore their Rudolph antlers (and red noses) and started w/ the "12 days of Christmas" exercises.

Morgan's First Book

Written and illustrated by Morgan - she worked on this story after school - she just asked how to spell certain words! She took it to school, read it to her class, and donated it to the library!
The story will sound a bit familiar...
Still familiar...
Love her illustrations!

She wrote and illustrated one page every day...

A slight twist to the story...

Wrapping up!

A close up of some good drawings...
